Key Responsibilities- Efficiently manages gangway operations including (but not limited to) access control, screening of all personnel wishing to board the vessel for prohibited items, proper relief/rotation of staff, and efficient/effective operations including line management.
- Efficiently coordinates security operations with outside agencies and promptly completes Declarations of Security as required by the ISPS Code.
- Effectively and efficiently supervises set up, calibration, operation, and maintenance of all onboard security-related equipment in accordance with manufacturers’/Company requirements.
- Effectively and efficiently supervises operation and maintenance of security CCTV system in accordance with manufacturers’/Company requirements.
- Ensures compliance with ISPS and Carnival Corporate Security Standards at all times.
- Willingly assists the Staff Captain with efficient operation of the master key system on board, with the exception of ships with a computerized master key system.
- Oversees continual training of the security team in Code Sierra procedures, exercises, drills, and any other security requirements ensuring compliance with international and Company regulations.
- Effectively and efficiently manages authorized visitor access to the ship, including identification, confirmation of business, and issuance of visitor passes.
- As detailed by Fleet Regulations, reviews and promptly makes necessary entries into the Port & Ship Security Management Database, based on occurrences.
Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseMinimum five years security experience required Law Enforcement and/or related Military, Maritime or other Government or Private Sector (criminal) investigative experience required Experience in conducting (criminal) investigations, interviews, report writing, crime scene preservation etc. required
