Requirements

  • Min. 1-year’s experience in a housekeeping department as an assistant manager
  • Experience in a 4* or 5* operations (hotel or cruise ships)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of sanitary regulations
  • Excellent understanding of chemical cleaning products
  • Stress tolerant
  • Familiar with a multicultural working environment

Role and Responsibilities

  • Relieve the executive housekeeper when absent
  • Daily clean and service up to 16 guests cabins including turndown service and embarkation setup
  • Assist with the evaluation of the housekeeping team and provide feedback to the executive housekeeper
  • Assist with purchasing orders, including equipment items and delivery control
  • Maintain proper storage of all linen, uniforms, supplies, and equipment.
  • Check externally laundered linen during linen change days and report deficiencies and discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Carry out daily laundry duties such as washing and ironing as per instructions
  • Handle guest and crew laundry as per company standards
  • Welcome and greet guests according to company standards
  • Duly inform supervisor of any guest complaints
  • Keep a record/list and monitor any breakage and damage, notifying the supervisor on a regular basis
  • Maintain cleanliness front and back of the house according to Ecolab regulations.
  • Ensure correct handling of all equipment, machinery, and chemicals

Side Tasks

  • Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings
  • Perform other duties as instructed by the supervisor, e.g. luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
  • Assist with monthly inventories as per the supervisor’s instruction
  • Assisting other departments as per the supervisor’s instruction
  • Clean and polish chinaware, glasses, and silverware as instructed
  • Participate in all safety drills and ensure solid knowledge of designated safety role
