Position Description:
 

The Assistant Food Storekeeper is responsible for:

> Efficient day to day management of the stores department, including, but not limited to, managing, monitoring, developing and training team
members, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective provisions operation
> Ensuring adequate resourcing of teams, completing appraisals, identifying development opportunities and supporting staff to guide,
motivate and direct their respective teams
>  Managing food, bond, and inventory stores on behalf of the Hotel department
> Assisting in the receiving, storing, and issuing food and beverage related items
> Follows procedures for disposing of spoiled items and transports to designated collection areas
> Operates fork lift and other related equipment used in the provision area as required
> Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment in good working order
> Participates in scheduled physical inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy
> Notifies management of the malfunction of lighting, heating and ventilation equipment
> Assist the inventory team in the maintenance of all storerooms
> Assists the Food Storekeeper with assigned duties required by the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Organization
> Checking food quality and reporting rejected items to the Food Storekeeper
> Responsible for the safekeeping and the issuance of Food and Bar products
> Participate in duties related to the ordering, loading, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuance of all Food and Beverage products
> Advises Food Storekeeper of any variances from received orders compared to order
> Assisting Provision Master to identify any physical count discrepancies, spoilage, and breakage of Food and Beverage inventoried items
> Ensuring the safe handling and storage of meat, poultry, fish, seafood and ready to eat products to ensure the highest standards of food hygiene, food safety and dish presentation at every stage
> Assists the Food Storekeeper with assigned duties required by the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Organization
> Assisting Food Storekeeper and ensuring the completion of stock takes in accordance with company policy and procedures
> Producing discrepancy reports in accordance with company policy and procedures
> Reporting maintenance defects in line with company policies and procedures
> Uses a variety of cleaners and chemicals following all proper and safety regulations. Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to MSDS specifications. Mixes water and detergents or acids in container to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
> Ensuring cleaning standards and schedules for the storerooms are adhered to and logs maintained in accordance with acceptable Public Health Sanitation Programs and EU SHIPSAN procedures
> Responsible for assisting in maintaining proper inventory rotation techniques by following the FIFO methodology
> Effective delegation of garbage duties to ensure safe disposal and environmental compliance in accordance with company policy and procedures
