Your Purpose

As a Refrigeration Technician  you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of the ship’s air conditioning systems, provision area refrigeration units, and all onboard refrigerators. Collaborating closely with the Chief Refrigeration Technician, you will ensure these critical systems function optimally, providing comfort and safety for our passengers and ensuring that food storage and preservation standards are met to the highest quality. Your role will involve hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair, keeping our ship's cooling systems in top condition throughout each voyage.

Your Journey So Far

1.    Experience in Refrigeration Systems: You should have hands-on experience working with refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring their operation and performing routine maintenance and repairs.
2.    Industry Experience: Preferably, you have experience working in the maritime or hospitality industries, where the demands of large-scale refrigeration systems are high.
3.    Troubleshooting & Repair: You should be able to quickly identify and resolve mechanical or electrical issues with refrigeration units, maintaining minimal downtime and disruption.
4.    Passion for the Marine Industry: Your enthusiasm for working in the maritime sector will help you thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
5.    Experience on Vessels (Preferred): Previous work aboard large vessels or cruise ships is a plus, but not required. If you have relevant maritime experience, this role would be a natural progression in your career.

Your Essentials

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
1.    High School Graduation or equivalent
2.    Relevant Technical Qualifications: Certification from a recognized Technical Institute in refrigeration and air conditioning
3.    Licensing: Valid maritime refrigeration technician certification (or equivalent)
4.    Experience: Proven experience in maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems, ideally within a marine or hospitality setting
5.    English Proficiency: Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
6.    Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, lift and carry equipment, and perform technical tasks under varying conditions.
